Google Ads Grant for Non-Profits in NZ

What are Google Ads Grants?  

Google Ad Grants help nonprofits in New Zealand and globally share their causes with the world. With this grant, your non-for-profit can:  

  • Raise awareness, attract donors, and recruit new volunteers. 

  • Access to up to $10,000 per month in search ads shown on Google.com.   

  • Change the world with your charity's message.

How can I get started?  

1.First, apply for Google for Nonprofits:  

Once Google has verified your organisation's eligibility, you'll be able to activate Google Ad Grants. Your organisation must hold valid charity status in New Zealand – or wherever else you are based.   

2. Next, Activate Your Ad Grants:  

You can do this by using the same login email for your Google for Nonprofits and Ad Grant accounts.  

  1. Sign into Google for Nonprofits.  

  2. Click "Active Products" then "Get Started" under Google Ad Grants.  

  3. Fill out the assessment by clicking the eligibility form link.   

  4. Click "Activate" to submit your organisation for review.  

3. Now it's Time to Launch Your Campaign:  

If Google has approved your activation request, you'll get an email invitation to your Ad Grants account, you can set up your first campaign!

1. First up, register

As soon as there’s a match available, you will be matched to a student/volunteer team that has passed the Google Ads certification exams and is led by an advisor.   

3. Launch campaigns with account support at no cost  

Throughout your partnership, your student/volunteer team will help you launch ads and deliver a post-campaign report with future recommendations to optimise your account.

1. It's Time to Get Certified  

Before you are eligible to be matched to a nonprofit client, you'll need to pass the Google Ads Search Certification and Measurement Certification exams. You can pop these straight onto your CV or LinkedIn profile when you're certified – you're one step closer to being a Google Ads Guru!  

2. Register Your Team  

Your advisor must register here first. Want to be an advisor to a team? Learn how to do that here. Once your advisor’s registration has been verified and approved, one Team Captain per team needs to register here.  

3. Match with a nonprofit  

Google matches you with a nonprofit client, and you spend eight weeks working to improve their Ad Grants account. Training and step-by-step guides will help you through the process.
