Fixing Your IG Grid: What to Do When It Switches to Portrait

Instagram just switched up the game, and if your carefully curated grid now looks completely out of whack—don’t panic, there’s a fix!

With the Adjust Preview feature, you can control how your posts preview, so your text does not appear cropped when looking at your grid.

Here’s How to Restore Your Grid’s Aesthetic:

  1. Go to your Instagram profile

  2. Press and hold the post that looks off

  3. Tap "Adjust Preview"

  4. Select "Fit" to make sure nothing gets cropped

  5. Choose a background (black or white)

But here’s the real takeaway:

Going forward, all social posts should be in a 4:5 ratio (1080px by 1350px) to ensure they display correctly across your grid and the feed. No more awkward cropping, missing faces, or visuals that don’t sit right.

If you’re serious about keeping your brand aesthetic polished, this small tweak makes all the difference.
