Emma's Digital Marketing Experience

Emma's journey into digital marketing began with e-commerce and the rise of social media for business. A few years into her career, while working in the product marketing team for Debenhams in London, she was able to embrace a surprising move into a full-time role in social media management. And, she fell in love with it! As the years progressed, she has honed her skills and worked with various brands, gaining expertise in content marketing, influencer engagement, social media strategy, graphic design, video editing and more. Her current marketing interests lie in conversion optimisation, lead generation and sales.

A Few Cool Achievements

Throughout her career, Emma has achieved amazing results for the brands she worked with. At Matter Agency, she successfully runs Meta (Facebook/Instagram) lead generation and remarketing campaigns for clients, alongside developing organic content plans. During her time at Bendon Group, she amped up brand engagement through innovative diversity campaigns and successfully launched the Bendon ambassador program starting with influencer Jess Quinn. Moreover, as a Marketing Manager at Scentre Group, she curated and executed fire strategies, delivering incredible results for Westfield St Lukes.

The Best Part of Social Media?

For Emma, the best part of social media is the instant gratification - and feedback - it provides. She loves how quickly results can be seen and analyzed for her clients. Whether it's a successful sales campaign or understanding customer behaviours, Emma finds value in gaining insights immediately. Being able to track and measure the impact of marketing efforts in real-time is one of the key advantages of the digital landscape, making it a rewarding career for Emma.

And the Downfalls…

However, like any field, social media has its challenges. Emma’s least fave aspect of social media marketing is technical platform issues. Dealing with the nuances and updates of different platforms can be frustrating for even the most pro marketers! This is why we should be careful of hacks and shortcuts in social media marketing. While some techniques promise easy success, she believes they can compromise authenticity and undermine genuine connections with the audience. Emma advocates for a more organic and tailored approach to marketing that aligns with the unique needs of each business.

The Future of Social Media and AI

Emma sees AI as a valuable tool for streamlining processes and reducing administrative tasks. She believes it has huge potential for small businesses and professionals. However, she also expresses concerns about AI-generated visual content, a.k.a deep fake - fearing its potential to mislead and confuse consumers. As technology advances, Emma hopes measures will be implemented to protect people from the risks of AI-generated content.

Representing The Cat Lovers At Matter

Beyond her marketing expertise, Emma is a dedicated cat lover! With two adorable (and sometimes naughty) kitty companions, she represents the cat-loving community at Matter Agency - who are predominantly dog obsessed.

With her extensive experience and knowledge in digital marketing, Emma brings a valuable blend of expertise and creativity to the Matter Agency team.
